A Connecticut state trooper assigned to assist in a court-ordered eviction of a tenant, who lived in the small Windham County town of Brooklyn, shot and injured the tenant on Tuesday, May 9 at approximately 9:35 a.m., according to the Connecticut State Police.
Troopers arrived at the residence on Tiffany Street and reported that the tenant refused to comply with the eviction and was wielding a knife.
One of the troopers shot and injured the tenant during the incident.
The tenant was flown by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, where he underwent surgery.
The tenant is currently in stable condition, troopers say.
The Connecticut State Police say that the "complex" investigation, led by the Office of the Inspector General assisted by detectives from the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit- Central District, is ongoing.
